May 3, 2013 Dublin

Time : 11:30pm
Venue : The Grand Social
Address : 35 Liffey Street

Home is a party, this is how it started….

Two friends Risteard Byrne and Daniel Angelov began playing their parents’ and relatives’ old disco records in Dan’s garage to anybody that would listen. They bought two turntables, found Risteard’s older brother’s collection of house classics, breakbeat and 90s dance music records and started having regular parties in the garage.

After seeing James Murphy in Electric Picnic 2012, and how he finished an unbelievable set with ‘This Must be the Place’ by Talking Heads, they decided they would bring their music collection to Dublin. The first Home was upstairs in Solas on a rainy Tuesday in October 2012. The crowd was buzzing, the music was blaring, and we’ve been at Home ever since!

Home is a musical journey, expect an eclectic mix of music that starts somewhere around 1978 and ends up in 2013.

James Kelly will be supporting with his brand of disco-house. We have Niall Farrell providing us with visuals ranging from Thomas the Tank Engine episodes to old school raves and Charlestons! Also at HOME, we are lucky to have two wonderful artists involved with the night… Phats is a Dublin-based graffiti artist and will be providing us with a piece for our nights while the famous HOME letters will be designed and put together by Caroline Byrne.
